Research
Jens conducts a research project on ‘divided development’ together with Johan Lagerkvist (Professor of Chinese studies, Stockholm University, and Research Fellow at ISDP), studying conflict and development in South Sudan, with special attention to international, Western and Chinese development policy.

More general research interests are on changing liberal governing rationalities with focus on biopolitics, development and security. A central theme is post-conflict intervention and state-building in post-conflict ethno-plural societies. Other general interests include the Balkan region, nationalism, ethnicity, community, and critical political economy.
