Non-resident Research Fellow
Dr. Jingzheng Ren is a non-resident researcher in ISDP. He is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Centre for Sustainable Engineering Operations Management, Department of Technology and Innovation, at the University of Southern Denmark. He holds a BS and MS degree in Chemical Engineering from Chongqing University. He got his Ph.D degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Padua.
Based on a strong background in environment engineering, energy engineering and mathematics, he has developed various useful methodologies based on computer-aided decision-making and optimization to deal with energy and environmental problems. His research interests mainly focus on industrial engineering, including energy system analysis & design, energy security, industrial ecology, and multi-criteria decision making.
Mr. Jingzheng’s work at ISDP will focus on scientific decision-making on Arctic issues for a more sustainable and secure Arctic, including policy implications and strategic measures in resource-energy exploitation, and the emergency responses for climate change and international disputes in the Arctic.
He has co-authored more than 40 papers that focus on the nexus of Industrial Engineering, Sustainability and Energy. Among these, 35 papers have been published in (or accepted by) some famous international journals, i.e. Nature, AIChE J, Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy, Bioresource Technology, Energy Conversion and Management, Resources, Conservation & Recycling, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Transportation Research Part D, Journal of Cleaner Production, Waste Management, Habitat International, and International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment, et al. And his total impact factor has exceeded 150.0. One book chapter has been published by Springer. In addition, he has also co-authored 7 papers in some famous Chinese journals, presented 7 papers on some high level international conferences, and one blog published by The University of Nottingham.
He was interviewed by the most read newspaper in Denmark- Jyllands-Posten for his academic performances (see the newspaper of 14th December, 2015), and was also profiled by the University Magazine Ny Viden (New Science). Target selection team of Renewable Energy Global Innovations (REGI) service has identified two of his recent publications as the Key Scientific Article contributing to the excellence in Energy research. His research outcomes were also reported by same famous newspapers and electronic media in China.
