Promoting Democracy in Myanmar: Political Party Capacity Building

The burgeoning democracy in Myanmar relies on the strength and capacity of the country’s political parties. This paper by Aung Aung, a Burmese guest researcher at ISDP in 2012, explores the political environment in Myanmar, looking both at the main actors and the minor ethnic parties. It provides recommendations for these parties and the international community on how to engage and help build capacity and promote democracy in Myanmar.
