Workshop on Organised Crime and Financial Crisis

Workshop on Organised Crime and Financial Crisis

April 28, 2011, 13:00-17:00 local time

In light of the recent financial crisis, the Institute for Security and Development Policy is increasingly concerned that organized crime groups may have entrenched their positions within the countries around the Baltic Sea. ISDP has therefore initiated a project with the purpose to explore the effect of the economic crisis on organized crime groups and how these groups have reacted to the situation.

The aim of the workshop is to present the conclusions drawn during the Organized Crime and Financial Crisis research-project. At the same time, the participants will have a possibility to discuss the problem and challenge each other’s opinions and arguments on the issue.

The workshop will host researchers from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Russia and Sweden.

Location: St. Petersburg, Russia
