Transboundary Water Resources – Why Are They Important And How Can They Best Be Addressed?

Anders Jägerskog is the Director of Knowledge Services at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) where he is the head of the Transboundary Water Management Unit. His work focuses on international water issues and in particular transboundary waters and water governance. He manages the UNDP Shared Waters Partnership which facilitates and promotes dialogue and cooperation on transboundary water resources. He is also an Associate Professor at the Peace and Development Research Programme, School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg, where his work focuses on global water issues. Previously he worked at the secretariat for the Expert Group on Development Issues (EGDI) at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He has also worked on the topic of water resources as a Senior Programme Manager at the Embassy of Sweden, Nairobi, and at the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA).
