Vice President of the China Institutes for Contemporary International Relations
Friday, May 29, 10.00-11.30
The rise of China to centre stage in international politics is well known, meanwhile the EU’s role as an international actor is being tested by recent developments in Eastern Europe. In an increasingly multipolar world, relations between China and the EU will become ever more important. In this ISDP forum, Professor Feng Zhongping, Vice President of the China Institutes for International Relations, will explore the evolution of China-EU relations and shed light upon how China views the EU’s role on the world stage. Professor Feng will also discuss Sino-European cooperation in key areas such as climate change, non-proliferation, and the reform of global governance. Finally, he will assess the prospects for the formation of a more mature partnership between the EU and China in the future.
Professor Feng Zhongping is the Vice President of CICIR. He holds an MA. & Ph.D in History from Lancaster University, UK. and has been a visiting scholar at the Harvard Center for European Studies and at Durham University. He is the author and editor of many books and articles on the EU its member states.
