Conflict Managment in the Taiwain Strait: What Next?

Wednesday, April17, 2013, 10:00 – 11:30

Since President Ying-jeou Ma took office in May 2008, expectation for developing confidence-building mechanisms between Taiwan and China rose. Nevertheless, no progress has been made and the likelihood for initiating this action in the remaining year of his second term is low.

This presentation tries to explain why no progress has been made, illuminate differences between the two sides, and give perspectives for the future.

Dr. Arthur S. Ding, Distinguished Fellow and Acting Director, Institute of International Relations, National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan, and Associated Fellow, ISDP.

Location: ISDP, Västra Finnbodavägen 2, Stockholm-Nacka. For a map and directions, please go here.
