Hamstrung by a tight international sanctions regime, the DPRK economy is a unique case in the study of the international political economy. What are the economic fundamentals in the country? How does it manage in the face of a very challenging international political environment? In this ISDP Forum, Paek Song Chol and Choe Hyon Do, director and officer at the Department of Economic Policy, Korea-Europe Association in Pyongyang, DPRK, and visiting fellows at ISDP, will address the above questions and talk about the country’s five-year plans and special economic and tourist zones. After the presentations there will be room for Q&A. The forum will be moderated by Niklas Swanström, Executive Director of ISDP.
