Appeal of think-tankers to the citizens of Europe and their leaders: Abandoning Ukraine would render Europe terribly vulnerable.

December 12, 2023: Anna Wieslander, Chair of the ISDP Board, signed an appeal of think-tankers who have been working on European security for many years to the citizens of Europe and their leaders. Abandoning Ukraine would render Europe terribly vulnerable.

The three key messages of the appeal are:

1. The situation is critical. There is an increasingly glaring gap between the urgency of the situation and the weakness of our actions.
2. If Ukraine loses, Europe will enter a new era of insecurity and pay a huge price.
3. Europe has the resources to enable Ukraine to win, through a genuine collective industrial mobilization.
