ISDP had the pleasure of hosting a practicum group from the U.S. National War College

April 8, 2025: Last week, ISDP had the pleasure of hosting a practicum group from the U.S. National War College, visiting Stockholm as part of their Group Strategy Research Project focused on developing a U.S. strategy toward Sweden and Finland. 

Organized jointly with our partners, the visit facilitated rich discussions between the students and a range of Swedish officials and experts. The group engaged on several critical strategic themes, including: 

• Sweden’s evolving role within NATO
• Geopolitical challenges posed by Russia and China 
• The impact of influence operations on Swedish society and security
• Broader regional dynamics affecting transatlantic cooperation 

The exchange offered an important opportunity to test assumptions, share perspectives, and deepen mutual understanding at a pivotal time in the Euro-Atlantic security landscape.
