Jagannath Panda has been nominated for the list of geostrategic thinkers, part of ThePrint’s list of India’s next-gen intellectuals

December 5, 2024: Jagannath Panda, Head of the Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs, has been nominated for the list of geostrategic thinkers, part of ThePrint’s list of India’s next-gen intellectuals.

Jurors: ThePrint’s panel of jurors includes author, India Foundation president and RSS leader Ram Madhav, Carnegie India director Rudra Chaudhuri, former High Commissioner to Pakistan TCA Raghavan, geopolitics analyst and former IDSA Associate Fellow Swasti Rao, and author and columnist C Raja Mohan.

“Panda has contributed extensively to the knowledge pool on India’s relations with China, South Korea, and Japan. He is one of the very few academic scholars with a wide-ranging presence in numerous international journals and magazines.”

“I am happy, honored, and humbled by this acknowledgment. India is emerging as a critical player in world affairs and its relationship/partnership with the world (including with the EU) will become significant determinants of future world politics. Through my writings, I have tried to build this capital of relationships that India could perhaps build and turn those as referral partnerships in the Indo-Pacific. India’s relationship with China, Japan, South Korea, and the EU needs closer watch, research, and scholarly persuasion. As Head of the Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs, this has been one of my prime research mandates and objectives,” says Jagannath Panda.
