Josephine Ørgaard Rasmussen was interviewed by TT about the political situation in South Korea after the introduction and withdrawal of martial law

December 4, 2024: Josephine Ørgaard Rasmussen, Project Coordinator at the Stockholm Korea Center, was interviewed by the TT news agency about the political situation in South Korea after the introduction and withdrawal of martial law.

At the end of the interview, she explains that the reaction of the opposition and the people – and the peaceful lifting of martial law – shows how strong South Korean democracy really is.

“This incident does not mean that South Korea is falling apart, it just shows the need for change.”

“South Korea is a thriving democracy, whose people can be vocal and opinionated – but not violent.”
