Mats Engman joined a discussion organized by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and UI on the sideline of the NNSC Capital Consultations in Stockholm

April 10, 2025: Mats Engman, Head of the Stockholm Korea Center and Distinguished Military Fellow, was invited for a round table discussion on the sideline of the NNSC Capital Consultations in Stockholm organized by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Swedish Institute for International Affairs (UI).
He joined Gen (ret) LaCamera on a panel discussing “Looking ahead; Security on the Korean Peninsula”
His main argument was that the balance of power has significantly shifted over the last 12-18 months, leaving the DPRK in a more favorable position and weakened the ROK and to a lesser degree even the U.S., calling for a policy re-calibration of Peninsula related policies.
