Mats Engman spoke to SVT Aktuellt about South Korea calling for North Korean soldiers to go home
October 22, 2024: Mats Engman, Head of the Stockholm Korea Center and Distinguished Military Fellow, spoke to SVT Aktuellt about South Korea calling for North Korean soldiers to go home.
North Korea has decided to assist Russia with 12,000 troops in the war against Ukraine. This is according to both South Korea and Ukraine, which also state that about a thousand are already on Russian soil.
“One of the advantages for North Korea is that it can gain modern combat experience,” says Mats Engman.
