Recording available: Global Health in the Wake of Covid-19: Understanding Taiwan’s Bid for Meaningful Participation in the WHA
May 14, 2024: The recording of the Taiwan Lecture “Global Health in the Wake of Covid-19: Understanding Taiwan’s Bid for Meaningful Participation in the WHA” is now available on ISDP’s YouTube channel.
The Covid-19 pandemic brought Taiwan’s exclusion from international organizations to the forefront of debate as global health became a tangible concept for people across the world. Throughout the pandemic, Taiwan gained an international reputation for its successful handling of Covid-19, but its exclusion from the World Health Assembly (WHA) and World Health Organization (WHO) simultaneously highlighted its absence in matters of global health governance and cooperation. Join us at ISDP’s Stockholm Taiwan Center for a discussion about global health governance in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges that are associated with Taiwan’s lack of participation in the World Health Organization between Nordic and Taiwanese participants ahead of the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA).
