December 3, 2018: Svante Cornell was interviewed by the Astana Times about Central Asian self-governance on the heels of the conference Astana – a Centre of Global Integration, Security and Peace.

“Now, we are seeing closer informal coordination in important areas […] These include how to jointly approach the policies of great powers, how to promote and develop transportation routes and how to play a supportive role in Afghanistan’s development. The most important accomplishment was the UNGA resolution on Central Asia passed this summer.”
