Anna Westerholm has extensive experience of and from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Russia. She is a career diplomat, and has served as Sweden’s Ambassador for the Eastern Partnership (2016-2022) and as Director and Deputy Head of the Department for Multilateral Development Cooperation at the MFA. She has also worked as an intelligence analyst on Caucasus and Central Asia for the Swedish Armed Forces. Prior to joining the Swedish Foreign Service, she held various positions for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Estonia, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova. Anna Westerholm has many years of experience in board work. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Science/Development Studies and Eastern European Affairs, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and Russia Studies from Uppsala University. She studied in Russia 1992.
