När Sverige ska lägga mer pengar på försvarsförmågan vill jag peka på fem områden där betydande åtgärder behöver genomföras. Det skriver före detta generalmajor Mats Engman.
Nyligen meddelade statsministern att även Sverige nu ska nå målet om att satsa 2 procent av BNP på försvaret. Det ekonomiska tillskottet är viktigt. Att det används rätt är minst lika viktigt.
Försvarsberedningen som nu ska arbeta fram ett antal förslag har en mycket utmanade uppgift framför sig.
Kriget i Ukraina gör att hela den säkerhets- och försvarspolitiska kartan håller på att ritas om, men det finns också andra viktiga områden som behöver få påverka den framtida försvarspolitiken.
