Replikväxling: Sverige i bottenskiktet vad gäller akademisk frihet
SvD Ledare och Ivar Arpis viktiga granskning av statsfeminism och universitetens situation har genererat en viktig debatt om akademisk frihet. Den konkreta incident som drabbade lektorn Erik Ringmar på statsvetenskapliga institutionen i Lund där en kurs fick läggas ner på grund av felaktig könsbalans i kurslitteraturen är ett symptom på ett mer omfattande problem. Tyvärr är själva förståelsen för betydelsen av akademisk frihet och vetenskapens självständighet dålig i Sverige även bland många som arbetar på universitetet.
I en replik på Ivar Arpis granskning och Erik Ringmars artikel om hot mot den akademiska friheten skriver Jonas Hinnfors och Lena Wängnerud, professorer i statsvetenskap på Göteborgs universitet, (SvD Ledare 14/11) att de inte känner igen sig: ”nja, vi känner inte igen oss…”.
