Turkey’s Military Rulers

On July 28, Turkey’s president Erdogan broke off negotiations with Kurdish leaders and resumed hostilities against the Kurdish separatist movement. The article argues that this represents a defeat for the Turkish President who has been forced to cede increasing political control to the Turkish military.
